August update, plus VOTE on the creative themes for our 2024 Special Edition Boudoir sessions!

Here’s a 30 second read to see what’s going on with OWN boudoir right now! The biggest thing we’d love your help with is the selection of the creative themes for our 2024 Special Edition shoots. If you’re new here then let me explain what those are!

Each year, we have four weekends where we dedicate that particular weekend to a creative theme and create incredible boudoir images surrounding that theme. These creative boudoir sessions are typically shorter; you might even call them 'mini' sessions in a past life. It's a great way to do something completely out of the box without having to book one of our standard boudoir experiences. Hair and makeup are always included, so you know you'll be able to perfectly match the theme you chose.

Happy reading!

  1. New 2024 Boudoir Themed Shoots!- Our 2024 Special Edition boudoir sessions will be announced in September! Booking for past clients begins in October, and all new clients will be able to book on Black Friday

  2. Speaking of our themed shoots: This year we’d love to hear from YOU on the themes you’d like to see the most, or even write in your own idea! VOTE HERE!

  3. Remember that personal project I mentioned a few months ago? We’re almost ready to start scheduling those of you that wants to participate! This project’s purpose is to show the everyday sensuality that exists beneath the ‘uniforms’ we wear in our everyday lives as women. It will NOT require nudity or overly revealing lingerie.

  4. We’re ramping up a new side of the business: headshots, personal branding, and dating profile images have been really popular lately and I’m excited to continue to expand this! If you need a great profile pic, I know a gal that can make sure your face doesn’t look weird ;) If you’d like more information on booking one of these shoots, get in touch here!

  5. Current obsession: fantasy smut books. I’m deep in the rabbit hole of A Court of Thorns and roses (and its companions), so please send any book recommendations that carry similar themes and steamy scenes.

Let's chat about Boudoir posing!

You are fully responsible for making sure your poses for your boudoir session are perfect, so you better start practicing!

-KIDDING-

“Will you help me know how to pose?” is probably the #1 question we get from clients. I’m here to tell you that we will absolutely help you pose and guide you the entire way throughout your session.

For me, posing ideas come very naturally and I don’t necessarily need to write down a plan of attack for posing. That being said, I do love to know a general direction or “vibe” that you’d like to go with. Kinky posing isn’t for everyone, and neither is more sweet and innocent posing.

Boudoir photography is meant to be intimate, personal, and often sensual in nature. Here are a few classic boudoir posing vibes that you might consider (and we can even do ALL of them at your shoot if you’d like!):

  1. The classic pin-up pose: This pose involves lying on your back on a bed, with one leg bent and resting on a stack of pillows or a chair.

  2. The "come hither" pose: In this pose, you might sit on the edge of a bed or chair, with one leg crossed over the other and your body turned towards the camera.

  3. The "bedroom eyes" pose: This pose involves lying on your stomach on a bed, with your head turned towards the camera and your arms resting above your head.

  4. The "sultry" pose: This pose involves sitting on a bed or chair with one leg crossed over the other, and your body turned towards the camera. You might also try placing one hand on your hip or behind your head for added glamour.

  5. The "sexy silhouette" pose: This pose involves standing with your back to the camera, with your arms raised above your head and your body turned slightly to the side.

Remember, boudoir photography is all about capturing your OWN personality and style. Don't be afraid to try out different poses and see what works best for you. I’ll always show you images on the back of the camera, so if you’re not feeling something we can pivot in order to make sure you’re 100% in love with your boudoir images.
