Here are 5 boudoir session wardrobe ideas that will add variety to your session

Variety is key when it comes to a successful boudoir photoshoot. We definitely don’t want your image collection to look like a catalog of black lace lingerie.

By incorporating a variety of wardrobe options, poses, and settings, you can create a diverse range of photos that showcase different sides of your personality and style. This can include playful and fun shots, romantic and sensual images, and more daring and adventurous poses. Having a variety of options can also help you feel more comfortable and confident during the boudoir shoot, allowing you to fully embrace the experience and capture images that truly reflect who you are. So, don't be afraid to mix things up and try new things to create a dynamic and unforgettable boudoir photoshoot. If you’re having trouble searching for a little variety then don’t worry: we have a WHOLE collection of robes, leather, lace, body jewelry, etc at our Marietta based studio! If you’re shooting on location somewhere in Atlanta then we can always bring a few of our options to you!

Here are my top 5 tips for incorporating a little variety into your boudoir session:

  1. Incorporate Sheer Fabrics: Incorporate sheer fabrics into your boudoir wardrobe to add a touch of sexiness to your photoshoot. You can choose from sheer robes, teddies, or even a sheer blouse paired with a lacy bra.

  2. Opt for Bodysuits: Bodysuits are versatile and can be found in various styles, including sheer, lace, or even leather. These can be paired with stockings, garters, and high heels to create a seductive look. Here is my go-to bodysuit that looks good on everyone! And here is a similar bodysuit that has more inclusive sizing for curvier figures!

  3. Try a Slip Dress: A slip dress can create a sensual and feminine look for your boudoir session. You can choose a silky, lace-trimmed slip dress or one with a low-cut neckline. I LOVE this slip dress, and is has a bonus feature of being a little stretchy :)

  4. Play with Accessories: Accessories can add a unique touch to your boudoir session wardrobe. You can add a statement necklace or earrings, a fur stole, or even a pair of handcuffs. Heyoooooooo ;)

  5. Go Bold with Colors: Remember earlier when I said that I didn’t want you to look like a catalog of black lace lingerie? Well COLOR is the definitive way to get around that issue. Don't be afraid to go bold with your color choices for your boudoir wardrobe. You can try a bright red or deep purple lingerie set to create a bold and sexy look. I also love the idea of a bright blazer or robe to go over the inevitable black lace set ;) I promise color is so fun, and if you’re iffy about it then just bring it in to our studio and we can see how it looks!

All of our boudoir sessions include a complimentary wardrobe styling appointment. Helping you every step of the way is our ultimate goal! You can book a consultation with us (virtually or at our Marietta based studio) right here!

-KIDDING-

“Will you help me know how to pose?” is probably the #1 question we get from clients. I’m here to tell you that we will absolutely help you pose and guide you the entire way throughout your session.

For me, posing ideas come very naturally and I don’t necessarily need to write down a plan of attack for posing. That being said, I do love to know a general direction or “vibe” that you’d like to go with. Kinky posing isn’t for everyone, and neither is more sweet and innocent posing.

Boudoir photography is meant to be intimate, personal, and often sensual in nature. Here are a few classic boudoir posing vibes that you might consider (and we can even do ALL of them at your shoot if you’d like!):

  1. The classic pin-up pose: This pose involves lying on your back on a bed, with one leg bent and resting on a stack of pillows or a chair.

  2. The "come hither" pose: In this pose, you might sit on the edge of a bed or chair, with one leg crossed over the other and your body turned towards the camera.

  3. The "bedroom eyes" pose: This pose involves lying on your stomach on a bed, with your head turned towards the camera and your arms resting above your head.

  4. The "sultry" pose: This pose involves sitting on a bed or chair with one leg crossed over the other, and your body turned towards the camera. You might also try placing one hand on your hip or behind your head for added glamour.

  5. The "sexy silhouette" pose: This pose involves standing with your back to the camera, with your arms raised above your head and your body turned slightly to the side.

Remember, boudoir photography is all about capturing your OWN personality and style. Don't be afraid to try out different poses and see what works best for you. I’ll always show you images on the back of the camera, so if you’re not feeling something we can pivot in order to make sure you’re 100% in love with your boudoir images.
