Last week we shared our first post highlighting the story of our first participant in our Milestone Session project. To read more about that project see the full write-up here! This project brought together clients, friends, makeup artist and others around Atlanta and the country. Everyone had one thing in common: they had been photographed by me and therefore supported my boudoir photography journey, or they knew someone that had been photographed by me and experienced the power (and vanity, duh) of a boudoir session.
The focus of today's post is a woman that I had the pleasure of meeting a little over 2.5 years ago as she took the plunge and scheduled her first session with me. Little did I know that she'd not only become one of those clients that really is down for whatever the F*CK I come up with, but she has become a friend and the biggest advocate for the power that a hot photo of yourself can have.
One of the best qualities about a person, especially a mother and a wife, is the ability to love and care so fiercely for another someone's/child's/spouse's well being and happiness. Unfortunately that quality can overpower our ability to retain a sense of our own selves.
This losing of one's self is a big reason that so many women enter my studio. There are many things that can happen, but in this particular case the physical journey of fitness was one that took a backseat.
Boudoir is a powerful tool to reconnect with ourselves, especially when you can see your hard work at the gym come to life in a photo, and I am so thankful (and proud for) those that choose this as part of their journey.
I asked each participant in this photo project to write a 'blurb' about their milestone. Here is her milestone 'blurb' in her own words:
"I found fitness after my second child, and at 45, I’ve never felt more confident & powerful in my body."
