Client interview - from selfies to boudoir.

1) How old are you?

26.

2) What do you do for a living?

I work in Automotive Internet Sales.

3) What/who made you decide to book a boudoir session?

I wanted to get my boyfriend a really great present for his birthday. His last girlfriend got him socks, so I had to step things up a bit. And whats better than a birthday boudoir shoot? :)

4) Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?

My ability to pose and not look weird and constipated. I had mastered the bathroom mirror selfie, but I was a little scared of how I would look through someone else's eyes. Also, keeping it a secret was difficult. I ended up telling him a few days before out of sheer excitement... I kind of had to... I wasn't sure how I would leave the house in a full face of makeup and a bag of lingerie without raising a few suspicions lol.

5) Why did you choose OWN?

I Googled "boudoir in Atlanta" and OWN had the nicest, most professional website. I also LOVED how natural the images were. They were not posed and cheesy like some of the other ones I've seen. All of the women LOOKED like they felt beautiful. The images looked exactly how I wanted mine to look.

6) How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?

It was a lot more causal than I thought, which made it super enjoyable. Like I said, I was worried about posing, but I was given amazing and easy direction (and a mimosa!) and didn't have to do much at all but just be myself.

7) What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (priming, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc)

Definitely seeing/giving the images. I was so excited when I got my proofs that I had to show my boyfriend. When he saw them he cried, and couldn't believe I had done something like that for him, and looked so beautiful doing it. And then I cried, because I've never heard him say anything like that, much less cry while saying it. And when he got the perfect little teal book (which Sarah hand delivered to our hotel on his birthday!), he was so happy. It was perfect.

8) How has the response been to your images?

Besides the tons of tears from the grateful boyfriend... I got overwhelming approval from my mom and coworkers, and 340 likes on Instagram lol. My photos are pretty much the most exciting and important thing I've done for my self-confidence in the last 10 years. I had an ugly duckling phase that I was happy to escape after high school, and doing this photo shoot was like stage 2 of that... it has given me a serious boost of self-love :)

9) Any advice for women interested in such a session?

Umm, DO IT?! And do not be afraid of anything. Unless you're afraid of feeling amazing, realizing how beautiful you are, and getting tons of compliments from people who also suddenly discover how beautiful you are.

10) Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of this session?

Absolutely. I don't have a weird nose, or a tiny butt like my mirror tells me. I love my body now. And every time I have a moment of insecurity I just flip through my boudoir book, which reminds that "Hey! You posed naked and looked good!" and all of those negative thoughts disappear.
