Here are the top 3 questions to ask when looking for a boudoir photographer!

Boudoir photography is a beautiful and empowering way to capture your sensuality and beauty. It can be a thrilling and intimate experience (and one hell of a confidence boost!!), but it's important to find a boudoir photographer who you feel comfortable with and who can create the stunning images you're looking for. If you're in the Metro Atlanta area then I’d love to be considered… BUT there are many photographers to choose from no matter where you are.

I’ve been photographing incredible clients all over the US and internationally for almost 15 years and have learned a few things! To help you make the best choice, here are the top 3 questions to ask your boudoir photographer:

1: Can I see examples of your boudoir photography work?

The best way to determine if a boudoir photographer is the right fit for you is to see their previous work. A professional boudoir photographer should have a portfolio of their previous shoots, and you should be able to view their work online or in-person. Take the time to browse through their portfolio and see if their style and aesthetic align with what you're looking for. If their work doesn't resonate with you, it's best to keep searching until you find a photographer whose work you love. This is such a personal process that you’ll want to make sure you know exactly the type of imagery to expect.

Something to be wary of: If there are a lot of different photo styles and editing inconsistencies in the photographer’s portfolio that could be a sign that they are stealing other photographer’s images for inspiration and passing them off as their own. Talk to the photographer about their work. If it looks too good to be true then it probably is.

2: What is your process for the boudoir shoot?

It's important to know what to expect during the boudoir shoot. Ask your photographer about their process, including how they prepare for the shoot, what you can expect during the session, and how long it will take. I highly recommend setting up a phone, video, or in-person consultation with any photographer that you are considering. You'll want to know if the photographer has experience with boudoir photography and if they can provide guidance on posing, wardrobe, and makeup. Knowing the process beforehand can help you feel more comfortable and confident during the shoot.

3: What are the pricing options and what's included in the package?

Pricing is a crucial factor when it comes to choosing a boudoir photographer. Make sure you ask about pricing options and what's included in the package. Some photographers offer packages that include hair and makeup, while others may charge extra for those services. Make sure you understand what's included in the package and what the final cost will be. Additionally, ask if there are any additional costs you should be aware of, such as prints, albums, or digital copies.

We offer hair/makeup as part of every one of our sessions. We also have a dedicated studio/location in Marietta, GA where we shoot our sessions! Location can effect the pricing of your boudoir session if a location is not already included in your session fee or package. Be sure to ask your photographer if you need to cover the cost of the shooting location for your session

Boudoir sessions are already a little bit anxiety inducing, so finding the right boudoir photographer is all about asking the right questions, doing your research, and making sure you understand (and LOVE) the photographer’s style. By asking about their portfolio, their process, and their pricing options, you can find a photographer who will create stunning images that capture your beauty and sensuality (and maybe a little silliness, too).

Repeat this in your head about half a dozen times an hour between now and the end of the day and you'll have an idea of how much I hear this statement.

Your greatest fear is that you're unique; that you're the 'chosen one' to resemble 'Sloth' from The Goonies.

In your fabulous uniqueness you begin to retract so that you can look like the models on my website. The thing is, NO one on my website is a model. The women you see, that I meet and share with everyday, are you. They are nurses, they are mothers, they are cancer survivors, festival go-ers, cosplay enthusiasts, and abuse survivors. They have trust funds and they have debts, they are divorced, they are about to get married, they are unable to have children, and they are dog-hoarders. They are unique and they are themselves.

Be unique for me!

As you try to fit yourself into an idea of how things 'should be' you limit yourself on how things CAN be. Let me guide you. Let me photograph the qualities that are there.. Even if it's been 10years since you've been able to see and feel what's inside.

Take heart in knowing that it is in my best interest to photograph you perfectly. I want you to show your friends so that they come see me, too. That won't happen if I screw up.

So take a deep breath, start looking at yourself in the mirror and naming the qualities that you love about yourself. Give yourself 3 positive compliments before you start zeroing in on your split ends and splotchy skin (the camera won't ever see that).

You won't be my outlier!
