When "Damn, Girl!" is the only phrase that works | Atlanta Boudoir Photographer

There is something I must admit to: I'm a glutton for hearing my clients brag about their images to others and to me. As human beings I think all of us secretly love to be over-the-top praised and affirmed :) "Tell me again how wonderful I am?"... If anyone wants to tell me how great I am then I'll be all ears! Don't judge me.

However, recently my itch for affirmation has been scratched not only by hearing these women gush over their images but by hearing how my clients have been inspired to create their OWN version of empowering women to own who they are and be their own true self. This client interview is a fantastic example of someone taking their boudoir session experience and turning it  into a way to inspire others.

Read on!

1) How old are you... or if you prefer, who were you listening to at age 14 :)?

I'm 30. At age 14 I was listening to Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, and Britney Spears!!

2) What do you do for a living?

I work as a Managing Director for an Education Nonprofit.

3) What/who made you decide to book a boudoir session?

I'd always wanted to do it. I love classic lingerie, and I thought doing a session as a gift to my husband for our first anniversary would be really spicy.

4) Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?

Yeah. I was worried being plus size that I just wouldn't look as hot as the thinner girls. I was dead wrong, and quite smoking in the final pics!

5) Why did you choose OWN?

One of my close girlfriends did a shoot with OWN as her groom's gift for her wedding. When she shared the book with me, I couldn't BELIEVE how amazing she looked. There are lots of photographer who do boudoir in my city, but NONE near the quality of OWN. I drove 12 hours in one day just to come down to shoot and it was SO worth it!

6) How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?

I had no expectations--I had no idea what it would be like, but I was so comfortable the entire time. There was champagne, chocolate covered almonds (my fave), and lots of Beyonce. All I needed to get in the mood! :)

7) What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (primping, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc)

Seeing the images was my favorite part. I was so nervous that I may have made a huge investment and hate all the photos, but that couldn't have been farther from the truth. I had trouble narrowing down my image choices to just 25 because I loved so many!

8) How has the response been to your images?

"DAMN GIRL!"

9) What is your advice for women interested in such a session?

Go for it. You will have no regrets. I literally want to show everyone and post all my pictures online-ha!

10) Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of this session?

Oh yes---I realized that I was smokin', and now that I'm not so camera shy, I'm actually working on launching my own plus sized fashion blog!
