Looking back.... a boudoir reflection

As a boudoir photographer I get to spend an incredible amount of 'intimate' time with my clients. It's not THAT kind of intimate, but between me, their significant other's, and their gynecologists, I feel like I'm 2nd in the race for intimacy.

I SEE their bodies, but I also see and hear their stories. Boudoir photography is so much more than pretty pictures of a sexy pose. It's about capturing an image of the woman inside. The hardest challenge for me is often how to bypass the mental blocks that walk in with each bag of lingerie. When my clients give up being terrified and choose to trust me (after I've worked, cried, and begged for their trust!) that is when the woman on the inside makes her way to the back screen of my camera.

So, be terrified. Be incredibly fearful. Hate your lingerie. Scoff and roll your eyes at boudoir photography.

...but when you come in, trust me. Know that it's my job and my goal (and I DON'T fail) to peel all of that back. When all is said and done it will be your NEW awareness that terrifies the old you.
