Boudoir client interview: A perfect way to commemorate a birthday milestone.

1) How old are you…?

I'm 25.

2) What do you do for a living?

I am a registered nurse in a postpartum unit here in Atlanta.

3) What/who made you decide to book a boudoir session?

I was looking for a way to celebrate my 25th birthday. I was wanting to do something different. Not the normal dinner or get together with friends (which I did too, lol). I thought taking some sort of pictures would be the perfect way to commemorate this milestone. Why not something creative and sultry like a boudoir session?!?

4) Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?

I was more nervous about how the final product would come out. I don't consider myself an overtly sexy person. I didn't want them to end up looking cheesy, forced or uber awkward lol.

5) Why did you choose OWN?

I chose OWN because Sarah just seemed to love what she did. The passion that came across when I watched her video online was beyond noticeable. Just watching that short video made me feel comfortable. The images that I saw were amazing. The types of images ranged from subtle sexy to whoa mama! I felt like I would definitely be able to walk away with images that I would love.

6) How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?

The actual vibe the day of the session was way more relaxed than I imagined. I felt like I was just at home, walking around with great music playing. I didn't feel shy or nervous about showing my body. On the flip side, I underestimated how much energy it took lol. Sarah said to eat and be well hydrated because it's a slight workout and she was telling the truth! All of the arching and twisting was well worth it because all of the images were amazing!!

7) What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (priming, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc)

I enjoyed priming process. Listening to music and talking while I got my makeup done was super relaxing and a nice transition into the shoot itself. Sitting down with Sarah and selecting the images was my favorite part. Everything came together. It was cool hearing which images Sarah liked too.

8) How has the response been to your images?

Everyone I show, LOVES the images! The response was shocking yet flattering at the same time. All of the ladies, older or younger, talk about taking pictures like that one day. All of the guys want to see more. Everyone thought they were done in good taste.

9) What is your advice for women interested in such a session?

If you're interested, you should follow up by sending an email so that you can get more information. Check out the website, look at Sarah's images and watch her video. Once you decide to actually book a session, and you will, look up some inspiration photos. Doing that helps you to think about what you want to wear and the overall look you want to obtain.

10) Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of this session?

Doing the session, I definitely got a boost of confidence. You see the images online and recognize how beautiful those women are, but I couldn't imagine that I would look half as good as them. Sarah mentions a dozen times how good you look throughout the shoot. You walk out feeling like a diva with your full face on. Then the day comes when you see your images and you realize that you are now one of those women that you saw online. 20 years from now when things start to sag and my hair has a little grey I'll have the images and memories from the shoot.
